Williams Racing has completed a shakedown of its 2021 Formula 1 car, the FW43B, at Silverstone.

As McLaren did a day earlier, Williams used one of its two filming days in order to give its new car a first on-track run at the British Grand Prix venue.

Unlike McLaren, however, the Grove-based team has not yet held its season launch, and the brief teaser video which it released has vision of the car itself obscured.

What can be gleaned from said video is that Nicholas Latifi was watching a predominantly dark blue-coloured car lap Silverstone in similarly damp conditions to those which Daniel Ricciardo encountered in the MCL35M.

The final livery is set to break cover when Williams conducts its season launch on March 5 (local time), while its drivers Latifi and George Russell will get more than the maximum 100km of running allowed for a filming day when pre-season testing takes place at Bahrain on March 12-14.

What follows will be the first full F1 season for Williams under its new owner Dorilton Capital, which bought the team last August.

Claire Williams departed a short time later with Simon Roberts appointed as acting team principal, a role announced as permanent with the appointment also of Jost Capito as CEO.

Jenson Button, who made his Formula 1 debut with Williams, was then named as a senior advisor last month.
