Leading commercial figure Zak Brown is being tipped to join Formula 1’s new owners Liberty Media as part of a fresh regime for the sport.
Expectations that the American businessman will take a role in F1 have been fuelled by the announcement that he is to resign from his position as group CEO at CSM Sport & Entertainment at the end of the year.
In the wake of Liberty Media’s $US8billion ($AUD10.4 billion) purchase of Formula 1, recently installed chairman Chase Carey has already hinted at bringing in new faces to the management team to develop the sport.
Brown would bring a proven track record to Liberty Media having founded the world’s largest marketing agency Just Marketing International, which was purchased by CSM Sport & Entertainment in 2013.
The 44-year-old, who also co-founded the United Autosports sportscar team, has successfully introduced several high profile sponsors to F1 teams.
While his future plans are yet to be announced, he says he will continue to work in the motorsport industry.
Brown is set to be replaced by Chris Satterthwaite as CEO of CSM Sport & Entertainment.

“I’m satisfied that we have achieved what I set out to do, from the successful integration of JMI into CSM through to preparing a strong business for a successful future.
“I would like to thank both Chris Satterthwaite and CSM Chairman Lord Coe for their invaluable support and commitment, without which these accomplishments and many more would not have been possible.
“I will take this experience forward to my next chapter in the arena I know best, motorsport.”
