IndyCar's Mikhail Aleshin has been released from hospital to continue his recovery from multiple injuries sustained in an horrific crash at the Fontana season finale last month.
The Russian single seater star has been released from the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he had been recovering from a concussion, fractured ribs, chest injuries and a broken clavicle.
During his stay in hospital, Aleshin has received minor surgery on his right shoulder.
“I'm feeling better each day,” said Aleshin.
“I'm very happy to be back in Indianapolis with my friends and the team.
“The doctors are taking very good care of me.
“Everything is going as planned with my recovery, and before you know it I'll be back behind the steering wheel.”
Aleshin will remain in Indianapolis to continue his journey back to full fitness under the supervision of IndyCar medical staff. He is expected to make a full recovery.
