Talent spotting initiative Aussie Driver Search (ADS) has revealed an impressive $1 million prize pool including a coveted drive in the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.
The nationwide program that aims to unearth aspiring racing drivers from all walks of life is gearing up for its fifth year of competition.
ADS will run four classes; Professional, GT, Amateur and Rookie, where candidates will be judged at a series of events by professional drivers to determine a winner.
Next year the winner of the GT class, that sees drivers pilot an Audi R8 GT3, will be offered a drive in the 2020 Bathurst 12 Hour.
Meanwhile, the winner of the Professional competition will earn a fully funded drive in the Dunlop Super2 Series with Matt Stone Racing.
The prize was introduced for this year’s contest with the winner to be revealed next month.
In the Amateur and Rookie competitions, big prize purses are on offer.
The Amateur Competition winner will score $100,000 to use towards their 2020 race seasons, while the Rookie victor will score $30,000 racing budget prize.
While there will only be four major winners, all top 10 finishers in each of the competitions will receive a prize.
“We are so excited to announce the prize packages for 2019 – it is definitely going to be our biggest and best year yet,” said ADS founder Kyle Austin.
“Having the fully-funded Super2 Series prize with Matt Stone Racing is such a huge deal. This is a real life-changing award for the winner.
“And even for those who make the final, these are key moments in anyone’s motorsport journey. It’s an exciting prize and we are looking forward to the high calibre of entries.
“The GT Competition prize is amazing, too. I was watching that event a few years ago thinking it would be cool to be a part of, and I’m extremely proud that we will be able to offer someone the chance to race in it.
“The 12 Hour race has cemented itself as a world-class event in our own backyard. It will be a thrill to see someone who has come through our program racing in it.
“The Amateur and Rookie prizes cannot be overlooked either. The cash prizes will kick start your racing journey and could send you onto bigger and better things.”
ADS will announce its 2019 calendar on Monday.
