Tim Berryman has secured pole position for Round 5 of the Radical Australia Cup at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Berryman stole provisional pole after the chequered flag in Qualifying 1 with a 1:25.8 lap and, while he failed to get anywhere near matching that effort in the second session, neither could anyone else.
Neale Muston’s time from earlier in the day also stood, the defending series champion gambling and losing when he sat out the final minutes of the opening hit-out in pit lane having lead for most of the 20 minutes.
Muston did set the fastest time in Qualifying 2 with a lap nearly three tenths slower than the pole time.
John Corbett, Peter White, and Chris Medland, round out the five SR8 class runners, while Peter Paddon was the quickest SR3 driver and will grid up in sixth.
Race 1 will be held over 10 laps tomorrow at 0830.
