Porsche Carrera Cup Australia is gearing up for its maiden international appearance at Malaysia's Sepang International circuit this weekend.
The series' fleet of race cars have completed the 6,500km journey from Brisbane to Malaysia in preparation for the event, with teams set to unpack their cars and equipment on Wednesday.
A field of 17 cars will line up on the grid to contest four races at the Malaysian Grand Prix venue as the series looks set to tackle the best from its Carrera Cup Asia counterparts.
The grid has been boosted by the return of Graham Williams and Dean Cook to the field having competed during the Australian Grand Prix round at Albert Park in March.
Carrera Cup Australia will take part in two championship races across the weekend at the 5.543km circuit, before combining with the Carrera Cup Asia grid for an outright race and a heat for the TAG Heuer Carrera Challenge/Pro-Am competitors on Sunday.
Last year Carrera Cup Asia headed to Australia for a championship round at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Tag Heuer Challenge racer Stephen Grove is among those yet to experience the Sepang circuit as he looks to fly the flag for Australia.
“I've never driven at Sepang before so it is going to be awesome to learn a new track,” said Grove.
“We don't get really any chance to represent Australia and I take that very seriously, so to go over there and fly the flag for the Aussies and get a good result is something that is high on my list this year.”
Speedcafe.com will broadcast the action from Sepang via a live stream service, which will begin with Saturday's qualifying session at 0835 AEST.
