IndyCar and Sportscar star Mike Conway will join the FIA Formula E Championship with Dragon Racing.
The 30-year-old Brit is the latest driver to commit his future to the all new electric single-seater series ahead of its inaugural season, which begins at Beijing in September.
Conway has been plying his trade with Ed Carpenter Racing in a part-time IndyCar campaign alongside a test driver role with the factory Toyota LMP1 team in the World Endurance Championship.
The former British Formula 3 champion is eagerly anticipating the new Formula E campaign with the Jay Penske owned Dragon Racing squad.
The identity of Conway’s team-mate is unknown at this stage.
“It is with great pleasure and excitement that I will be at the wheel of the Dragon Racing entry in the inaugural season of the FIA Formula E Championship,” said Conway.
“I have been very interested in Formula E since it was announced and I am proud to be involved with both Jay and Dragon Racing, in what I believe is breaking new ground in motorsports.
“I am very confident we can achieve great results during this first season.”
There are just five drives yet to be announced for the inaugural Formula E season.
Former F1 driver Scott Speed is being linked to final seat at Andretti Autosport. The American is testing alongside former Indy 500 winner Gil de Ferran with the team at Donington Park on Friday.
China Racing are yet to unveil its driver pairing while Amlin Aguri continue to evaluate their options to partner Katherine Legge.
