Craig Baird has taken his second Porsche City Index Carrera Cup race win for the weekend, dominating today's eight lap event.
The Kiwi legend lead from start to finish, setting the fastest lap on his way to a win that further narrows the gap to title leader Alex Davison.
Davison ran third, following category returnee Jonny Reid home. Former Formula One driver Heinz Harald Frentzen finished fourth ahead of debutante James Davison.
The top five results mirrored the finishing order of yesterday's race.
Steve Richards stormed back to sixth, recovering from his low starting position after his clash with Daniel Gaunt in yesterday's race.
Richards executed a late move on Team Kiwi Racing's Andre Heimgartner, who continues his impressive Porsche debut, edging out Elite leader Max Twigg, touring car legend Mark Skaife, Nick Foster and James Koundouris.
After yesterday's dramas, Gaunt made ground but lost positions on the fourth lap, falling to last. He recovered to 13th.
The final race of Round 2 of the Porsche City Index Carrera Cup will be held tomorrow.
