Australian driver Anton de Pasquale is a step away from lifting the trophy in the Formula Renault 1.6 NEC Championship.
Following his victory in Race 11 and sixth place in Race 12 at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit on the weekend, de Pasquale has assumed a 73 point lead heading into the final round.
The 19-year-old moves to Zandvoort for the last three races which sees a total of 30 points on offer for the winner of each of the heats.
Salvaging sixth in Race 12 after qualifying ninth, his worst grid position of the season, has the Werribee youngster a hot favourite to win the title after winning his seventh race of the series at Spa.
Janneau Esmeijer (Provily Racing) occupies second position on the table on 241 points with the Race 12 winner Ralf Aron (Scuderia Nordica) on 236 points the only two drivers capable of ripping the title from de Pasquale’s grasp.
The Zandvoort triple-header is schedule for October 17-19.
