Mark Webber will work alongside a new race engineer this season, with Red Bull confirming that the Australian’s long-time colleague Ciaron Pilbeam has moved to Lotus.
Pilbeam, who will now lead the race engineering team at fellow Renault powered squad Lotus, has been replaced by Simon Rennie, who had engineered Kimi Raikkonen’s Lotus throughout 2012.
Red Bull’s latest car, the RB9, will be launched at the team’s Milton Keynes, UK, factory on February 3 ahead of the start of the first pre-season test at Jerez, Spain, two days later.
Seven teams have locked down their launch dates so far, with McLaren kicking off proceedings on January 31 before the reveals of the Ferrari and Force India (February 1), Sauber (February 2), Mercedes and Toro Rosso (February 4).
