Over 40 cars have been entered for Formula Ford’s 50-year anniversary event at next year’s Bathurst 12 Hour in barely more than three days.
Entries for the special event, which will mark 50 years of the category in Australia, opened on Tuesday morning (August 28).
As at noon today (Friday August 31), the grid was already at 44 cars, representing 80 percent of the 55-car grid capacity.
Officially, entries close on November 30.
“We’ve already had 44 entries out of a capacity of 55 cars and entries only opened on Tuesday morning,” Event Category Manager Rowan Harman told Speedcafe.com.
“If anyone’s thinking of waiting then they probably should get in quick in case they miss out.”
The field will feature Formula Ford 1600 cars alongside Historic Formula Ford competitors to celebrate the category’s contribution to Australian motorsport.
It is one of four categories on the undercard for Mount Panorama’s once-around-the-clock sportscar classic, the others being Combined Sedans, Group S Historic Sports Cars and the Radical Australia Cup.
Next year’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour will be held over four days for the first time, from January 31-February 3.
