The retro livery for Chaz Mostert’s Prodrive Ford at the upcoming Sandown 500 will be put to a fan vote following the launch of an initiative by Supercheap Auto.
The primary sponsor of the #55 Falcon has put up three classic Supercheap Auto liveries for the Sandown 500 ‘retro round’ from September 15-17.
Options include the colour scheme run by John Briggs on a Ford Falcon AU in 1999, while the other two designs reflect the hues displayed by Holden Commodores raced by Greg Murphy in 2005 and Russell Ingall in 2010.
Fans are encouraged to vote on the Supercheap Auto Facebook page and explain in 25 words or less why the livery should be chosen.
A winner is due to be announced by Mostert in his video event wrap following next weekend’s Coates Hie Ipswich Super Sprint.
Last year, Mostert ran in the colours used by Steve Ellery in 2002.
