Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen have pulled the covers off a revised livery ahead of this weekend’s Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix.
The new sponsorship comes courtesy of Phillip Morris International, and its Mission Winnow initiative, with branding on both the car’s airbox and driver suits.
“Mission Winnow is about how we are transforming and a company, what we believe in and the way we work to enable a better future,” said Miroslaw Zielinski, President Science and Innovation at Phillip Morris.
“Scuderia Ferrari is the ideal partner for Mission Winnow because of the team’s passion for innovation and drive to constantly improve in the quest for victory.”
The relationship between Ferrari and Phillip Morris stretches back more than four decades, with the tobacco company traditionally purchasing all advertising on Ferrari’s F1 cars before on-selling the space to other advertisers.
The tweaked livery will debut at Suzuka this weekend, with practice set to begin at 1100 AEST on Friday.
