At the second round, he finished equal on points with first race winner Ryan Tomsett at the South Australian Motor Racing Championships fourth round, but scored the overall honours because he won the last race.
Tomsett was the fastest qualifier and won the first race by 3.2s. New Zealander Ben Stewart started on the outside of the front row and was fourth at the end of the first lap, behind Jayden Wanzek and Ben Gomersall.
Wanzek held onto second ahead of Wil Longmore who started sixth and was less than a second behind. Gomersall was next from Geoghegan, up from eighth and ahead of Stewart, Royce Lyne, Lincoln Taylor and Hayden Hume.
Wanzek beat Tomsett off the line in Race 2 to take the win. Tomsett creeped at the start was hit with a 5s penalty which put Geoghegan up from third to second. Stewart was fourth ahead of Longmore while Tomsett was repositioned to fifth. Next was Hume from Taylor, Lyne and Alice Buckley.
Wanzek led the final race from Geoghegan, Stewart, Hume and Longmore the first time around. Stewart passed Geoghegan midway though and took the lead off Wanzek at Turn 6 on the last lap.
There was contact between the two leaders at Turn 12 which spun Stewart and saw Wanzek cross the line first. However, he was penalised and relegated to 11th, ironically one spot ahead of where Stewart finished.
Geoghegan took the race victory with Tomsett through from seventh on Lap 1 to second. Longmore was next in front of Hume, Lyne, Gomersall, Taylor, Buckley and Salvatore Imbrogno.
Wanzek finished third overall ahead of Longmore while Hume and Stewart finish equal fifth on points, as they head to the next round at Phillip Island.
