A crash during Round 2 at The Bend saw the Mustang sidelined for the weekend.
Former Porsche Carrera Cup racer Tom McLennan was behind the wheel of the Mustang when contact with the Love Racing Mercedes-AMG sent the car off the road.
McLennan impacted the concrete barrier head-on, leaving the front end of the Mustang destroyed.
Campbell had drafted in Courtney Prince to share driving duties at Queensland Raceway, but a lack of available parts resulted in the car’s withdrawal ahead of the round.
Ultimately, Campbell made the decision to step back from the series due to an ongoing customer support dispute.
“Essentially this is customer racing and there has been a lack of customer support from the manufacturer so we have decided to pull out for the remainder of the season,” Campbell told Speedcafe.
Campbell cited a lack of support and what he claims are empty promises for his withdrawal.
“We’ve obviously gone to The Bend and had some unfortunate luck there,” Campbell said.
“The car’s been damaged and [we were] promised the world by Ford and Miedecke, they were going to do all these wonderful things for us and make sure we had parts and they’re going to do whatever they could.
“Hogwash, like they’ve done in the past. As it turns out, no parts, and the car’s in pieces waiting.”
Campbell noted the ongoing support from Method Motorsport, and maintains that the withdrawal is not to do with the team.
“Chaz Mostert, Aaron Reed and the rest of the team from Method Motorsport have been nothing short of amazing,” Campbell added.
“They have busted their guts to get me back on track but have essentially had their hands tied.”
Miedecke Motor Group is the Australian distributor for the Mustang GT4.
The distributor also competes in Monochrome GT4 Australia via its own Ford Mustang GT4 entry under the Miedecke Motorsport banner with team owner-driver George Miedecke and co-driver Blake Tracey.
A statement from the Miedecke Group cited freight delays as the reason behind parts being unavailable.
“Unfortunately, unexpected shipping delays have meant that parts required by the DA Campbell team for chassis repairs will not arrive in time for Round 3 of the GT4 Championship,” it read.
“Every effort was made at Ford Racing to ensure the team could take to the track next weekend, including booking air freight to expedite delivery of the required components.
“Unfortunately due to transit delays beyond their control the parts will not arrive in the country until Monday, leaving insufficient time for the necessary repairs to be completed.
“While this is the first time Ford Racing has been unable to fulfil a customer parts order, we are incredibly disappointed by the timing.
“Dean and his crew are true racers and fantastic ambassadors for the competitiveness of the Mustang GT4 platform, and their absence from the grid next weekend is a loss for the entire championship.”
Campbell left the round at The Bend fourth in the Silver-Am Cup standings.
Cameron Crick and Campbell were class championship contenders in 2025, narrowly missing out on the title to Jason Gomersall and Aaron Seton at the final round.
It remains to be seen if the #1 Mustang will be present at Queensland Raceway following the impact.
