Tim Leahey will make a return to the Porsche City Index Carrera Cup Australia this weekend at Bathurst.
The Orange-based driver will line up in the #66 Porsche GT3 Cup car, replacing Peter Hill at the Mount Panorama event.
Leahey raced in the Porsche category's first appearance at Mount Panorama in 2003 and returns this weekend for round five of the Porsche championship.
“It's great to have the opportunity to drive Peter's car while he's away. I love Bathurst and it's only 30 minutes down the road from home,” said Leahey.
“I did 20 laps in the Porsche at Phillip Island the other day, but I haven't done much racing over the past three years so I'm not expecting anything big. I've done the Bathurst 12 Hour over the past three years so at least I've had some recent experience around the track.”
Leahey has contested the past three Bathurst 12 Hour events with a best result of 10th in 2009 alongside Hill and Eric Bana.
