Speedcafe.com has added some extra shine to its product offering with the announcement of Meguiar’s as the site’s official car care partner.
The world’s most respected and market-leading car care brand, Meguiar’s is a perfect addition to the Speedcafe.com Platinum Partner group which features leading national and international automotive and retail brands.
As part of the partnership, Meguiar’s will also be a major partner of Torquecafe.com, Speedcafe.com’s performance and recreational vehicle arm which has gained terrific momentum since being launched 14 months ago.
Meguiar’s will be the presenting partner of the Torquecafe.com news section and also help bring Speedcafe.com TV to life with regular entertaining video content.
Meguiar’s was founded by Frank Meguiar in Indiana in 1901 when he started manufacturing furniture polish out of his garage.
Meguiar was inspired by California’s emerging car culture and moved to the West Coast in 1913 where Meguiar’s grew into one of the world’s leading surface care specialists – polishing the world’s planes, trains and automobiles ever since.
Frank was succeeded by son, Malcolm Meguiar and then grandson Barry Meguiar before the family-owned business was amalgamated with 3M in 2008.
The move provided Meguiar’s the scientific and technical might of 3M’s thousands of world-renowned researchers and state-of-the-art research facilities.
The resulting innovation allowed Meguiar’s to maintain its position as the world’s most respected and market-leading car care brand.
Australia was formally introduced to Meguiar’s in 1990, when Sydney-based businessman Bruce Morrison launched Meguiar’s Australia.
As sole owner and managing director, Morrison morphed the company into MotorActive in 2007, to better represent the company’s expanding portfolio of premium automotive brands.
Today, MotorActive remains 100% Australian owned and operated, and a key supplier to some of Australia’s biggest automotive retailers and one of the leading companies in the automotive aftermarket segment.
Morrison believes that the new partnership with Speedcafe.com will provide opportunities on several fronts.
“Speedcafe.com has been the benchmark for motorsport news for a long time and we believe that Meguiar’s reputation and position fits perfectly with the site’s values,” said Morrison.
“Motorsport and performance automotive enthusiasts have a passion for their vehicles and take pride in their appearance and protection.
“Speedcafe.com links us to their growing audience and provides us with an opportunity to work closely with our retail and event partners, including Supercheap Auto, which has been a proactive member of the Speedcafe.com family for several years.”
Speedcafe.com founder and owner Brett ‘Crusher’ Murray says that Meguiar’s will be a valuable addition to the site’s quality Platinum Partner group.
“We have always prided ourselves on working with the world’s leading brands and in the segment of car care Meguiar’s is the front runner,” said Murray.
“Meguiar’s has 120 years of history in the bank and we are humbled that the brand has been entrusted to us as we continually reinvest in our product while maintaining our mantra of being First, Fast and Free for the fans and the industry.
“We are looking forward to developing a long and beneficial relationship with Bruce (Morrison) and his team at MotorActive and placing Meguiar’s front of mind for our loyal and passionate readership while creating some cool content along the way.”
Meguiar’s joins a list of national and internationally recognised brands at Speedcafe.com including Pirtek, Michelin, Castrol Edge, Supercheap Auto, KTM, TyrePlus, R&J Batteries, Lloyds Auctions, Kincrome Tools and Dasher and Fisher Gin.
