The Paul Morris Motorsport Academy has expanded to include a third Toyota 86 racer in Emily Duggan.
The former New South Wales Excel driver will continue to maintain her 86 from her Sydney base but will enjoy support from Morris at Toyota 86 Racing Series rounds as well as driver coaching between events.
Duggan joins fellow Toyota 86 drivers Luka Vanna and Declan Fraser in the academy, as well as Kumho Tyre Super3 Series rookie Broc Feeney.
“My smile couldn’t be bigger, I have so much respect for Paul and for him to accept me into his academy, I’m so grateful,” said Duggan.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Paul last year at Norwell (PMM base), and his knowledge is incredible.
“When I started racing I always wanted a coach; no one taught me how to race or drive. A lot of the techniques have come naturally for me, but as I move up to higher-profile classes with faster cars, I need to turn those instincts into trained movements and processes.
“Paul has a knack for spotting talent and giving drivers the support they need. Under his wing, I know my determination and passion will be harnessed.”
Morris added, “I’ve been following Emily closely since she started competing in the 86 Series last year, and she is an inspiration.
“A lot of people in motorsport talk about what they want to do and achieve, but Emily just gets on and does it.
“She tows her own car to the track, works on it herself and never complains about it. A lot of others can learn from her example.”
Round 1 supports the WD-40 Phillip Island SuperSprint on April 12-14.
