This weekend’s first running of a retro-themed Supercars round at Sandown has seen 12 cars adopt throwback colours.
Supercars has introduced the concept in a way to breathe new life into the Sandown event which has long existed in the shadow of October’s Bathurst 1000.
The category’s desire to “bring back the look and feel of the touring car eras of the 60s, 70s and 80s” has resulted in a diverse array of liveries being sported by teams.
Just two – that chosen by Volvo and Nissan – technically fit the theme, with many others looking either outside the ATCC or using more modern touring car looks as the base for their designs.
Which team do you think has the best retro look for the Sandown 500?
