Australians Toby Price and Matt Brabham are set to tackle the 51st Baja 1000 this weekend.

New FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Champion Price will join three-time Baja 500 winner Bryce Menzies in the Trophy Truck category.

Meanwhile Brabham, who currently leads the Stadium Super Trucks (SST) series with one round remaining, will share a Textron Wildcat XX RGpro edition in the Pro UTV Normally Aspirated class with Tod Romano and Gavin Harlien.

“Really excited to announce I’ll be teaming up with Bryce Menzies of Menzies Motorsports for the Baja 1000 in the new AWD TT, testing went good and it’s a beast, I can’t wait to get into it,” said Price, who last raced in the event in 2016.

Brabham’s berth comes courtesy of an invitation from SST owner Robby Gordon and marks a departure from the circuit style competition the third-generation racer is familiar with.

“It was Robby’s decision to bring me on board, it’s not my background but I’m quite confident that I can get up to speed,” said Brabham.

“I’m going to go easy at first, but will hopefully be able to quickly get up to speed and have some fun.

“It’s a dangerous race but that’s the nature of off-road racing.

“Thanks to Robby and the guys at Textron for having me on board. It’s going to be good fun.”

The event begins on Wednesday local time and runs through until Sunday.
