David Sieders has topped both practice sessions for Round 6 of the Auto One V8 Utes – Protected By Armor All at Mount Panorama.
The Sydney-based driver recorded a 2:35.1175s on his third lap in Practice 2 to lead Elliot Barbour by over two tenths of a second, after Sieders’ young team-mate had led the session early on having set his best time on his first flying lap.
Kris Walton was third-fastest from Nathan Pretty and another Sieders Racing Team entry in category returnee Gary MacDonald, who could not better his opening session effort.
Ryan Hansford, Jesse Dixon, Andrew Fisher, Kim Jane and Rhys McNally rounded out the top ten.
As with other categories on track, the V8 Utes’ practice times were significantly slower than those recorded at Bathurst last year, with Sieders just over a second off the 2012 benchmark.
