The 2012 Qantas Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix saw McLaren stake its claim on the new Grand Prix season.
The Woking based squad topped four of the five sessions held throughout the weekend, with Sunday evening seeing Jenson Button take his third victory at Albert Park in four years.
It was an historic weekend for Australia too, with Mark Webber’s fourth place representing the best finish by a local driver since the AGP became a round of the World Championship in 1985. Topping off the result was an extroadinary ninth place for Webber’s countryman Daniel Ricciardo.
