Stewart snatches Loudon win, Chase lead

Tony Stewart has snatched victory in the Sylvania 300 when Clint Bowyer ran out of fuel with just two laps to go.

It was a reversal of fortunes from last year’s race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway when Stewart led on the final lap, only to run out of fuel and hand the win to Bowyer,

In the second race of NASCAR’s Chase for Sprint Cup, it was Stewart’s second-consecutive victory, his second of the season and the 41st of his career. The win has given him the lead in the series standings. Stewart leads Kevin Harvick by seven points. Harvick finished 12th.

Brad Keselowski used a great pit strategy to take second-place, with Greg Biffle third from, Jeff Gordon, Brian Vickers. Matt Kenseth, David Ragan, Carl Edwards, Juan Montoya and Regan Smith rounding out the top 10.

Australian Marcos Ambrose finished 30th.
