Former V8 Utes Racing Series driver Mason Barbera will switch to the Dunlop Super2 Series after securing a deal to join Garry Rogers Motorsport.
The 19-year-old will pilot a brand new Holden Commodore for the Melbourne squad alongside Dunlop Series regular Richard Muscat.
Barbara will replace James Golding in GRM’s Dunlop Super2 line-up.
Golding is set to make wildcard appearances in the main game alongside a Pirtek Enduro Cup drive with Garth Tander.
Barbera enjoyed an encouraging campaign in the V8 Utes series last year, finishing fifth overall in the standings.
“Being part of an amazing team now I can’t wait to the best job possible for everyone,” said Barbera.
“My goals for 2017 are to be consistent, I will be concentrating on finishing races and learning all the new things about this category.
“The nerves are high, but the excitement is higher.”
The GRM Dunlop Super2 Series squad will take part in a test at Winton today ahead of next week’s Dunlop Super2 Series opener at Adelaide’s Clipsal 500.
