PWR Performance Products, owned and operated by former V8 Supercars family team PWR Racing, was named as Business of the Year at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards last night.
PWR Performance Products, founded by former V8 Supercars-turned-Australian Safari driver Paul Weel, accepted an award in the ‘Manufacturing and Construction’ category and then the overall gong as the region’s leading business, ahead of some serious opposition.
The all-Australian owned company designs and manufactures light weight aluminium, high performance radiators, oil coolers and intercoolers at its purpose-built factory at Yatala, Queensland.
PWR exports its products all around the world, with a heavy focus on motor racing markets, including racing categories such as V8 Supercars, NASCAR and Formula One.
Among its success is its cooling solutions used by Red Bull Racing and its championship winning F1 team.
The awards dinner was held at the Pavilion Ballroom, Jupiters Hotel and Casino at Broadbeach.
Other winners in the Maufacturing and Construction category include Australian Work & Leisure Vehicle Innovations, P&M Plastics & Rubber, Nova Swimwear, Bakers Club and Benjamin Construction & Development
