V8 PREDICTOR: The final battle awaits

Setup ahead of this weekend

Setup ahead of this weekend’s Sydney 500

With the V8 Supercars Championship locked in an intense battle for the overall title the battle for  Castrol EDGE V8 Predictor supremacy remains just as tightly group as the sport heads to the deciding round at Sydney Olympic Park this weekend.

Just 124 points separates  Jamie Whincup, Craig Lowndes and Mark Winterbottom and a mere 29 points is all the difference between the top three V8 Predictors – Acc-sell-or-ators, Kiwichik racing and Clearly No Way.

With both the V8 Supercars and V8 Predictor championships so tightly grouped both series’ are set to come down to the wire as the championship wraps up on Sunday afternoon in Sydney.

In 2012 both Triple 8 (Lowndes) and Ford Performance Racing (Will Davison) won races in Sydney leaving predicting this round the toughest of the year.

Winterbottom also won in 2011 along with Lowndes once more, who has the best record at the street circuit. Championship leader Whincup is the only driver in contention for the crown to not have won at the Sydney street circuit.

Score the most points in the final round of the Castrol EDGE V8 Predictor – Sydney NRMA Motoring and Services 500 – and we’re giving away a fantastic bonus prize of a signed shirt and cap by the Pepsi Max Crew FPR squad.

The Sydney NRMA Motoring & Services 500 is taking place this weekend and you have until midnight (AEST) tonight (Friday Dec 6) to finalise your team.

All 28 cars will run on a hard compound Dunlop tyre and maximising the tyre life will be critical this weekend.

The Sydney NRMA Motoring & Services 500 event is the final round of the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship.

The Sydney Olympic Park event kicks off on Friday with practice ahead of qualifying and races on Saturday and Sunday.

If you’re having trouble making predictions for the weekend, check out who the experts think will perform best at the Sydney Olympic Park circuit.

Here’s the experts predictions for the Sydney NRMA Motoring & Services 500:
