Former World Endurance champion and Formula 1 star Mark Webber was among those honoured at the annual national CAMS Awards Gala dinner held at Crown Casino in Melbourne.
The nine-time grand prix winner was awarded the coveted Peter Brock medal in recognition for his motor racing career at the very pinnacle in F1 and sports car racing.
Webber announced his retirement from competitive motorsport last season having enjoyed a 12-year spell in F1 driving for Minardi, Jaguar, Williams and Red Bull and after three seasons in the World Endurance Championship.
The 40-year-old, who was made an Officer of the Order of Australia on January 26, won the WEC for Porsche in 2015.
Unable to attend the awards, Webber recorded a special video message which was aired at the ceremony.

Australia’s Dr Brent May was named by the FIA as the Best Doctor of the Season.
May has occupied the role of chief medical officer at high profile meetings including the Australian F1 Grand Prix, the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and World Superbike events at Phillip Island.
