As part of Speedcafe’s coverage of this weekend’s Australian MotoGP from Phillip Island we are giving 10 lucky readers the chance to win one of 10 autographed copies of Mark Beretta’s new book – The Riders, Australia’s Motorcycle Champs.

Speedcafe.com.au will be bringing you daily updates from Phillip Island thanks to the support of Honda Motorcycles.

Part of our coverage we will include special interviews with ONE HD’s commentary team Daryl Beattie, Greg Rust, Craig Baird and Leigh Diffey, who will all provide an insight into their favourite MotoGP moment.

Beretta might work for the opposition at Network Seven on the V8 Supercar coverage, but we like to think we show absolutely no bias at Speedcafe and have included his book give-away as part of our complete weekend mix.

The Riders has already sold more than 4000 copies and if you miss out on one of the 10 signed copies it is still available at all good bookstores for $35.

“The book has been a real labour of love. I’ve always ridden bikes, I always had bikes as a kid.

“You can line our bike riders up against any other sport, even swimming, and we’ve had more success on motorbikes than we’ve had in any other sport. It has never really been documented and we really wanted to celebrate that and tell people about the rich history that we have.”

The book looks at the early years of Australian riders, including Eric McPherson, followed by modern riders like Mike Doohan, Wayne Gardner, Casey Stoner, Jason Crump, plus a special chapter on the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit.
