The colours of automotive lubricant brand Wynn’s will return to V8 Supercars this year, backing Josh Kean’s Brad Jones Racing entry in the Dunlop Series.
The deal marks an extension of Kean’s existing relationship with the brand, which is best remembered in V8 Supercars circles for its sponsorship of Gibson Motorsport in the late 1990s.
Wynn’s Gibson deal culminated in a Bathurst 1000 victory for Greg Murphy and Steven Richards in 1999.
Kean’s car is one of three Car of the Future specification Holdens that BJR will run in the Dunlop Series this year, with Macauley and Andrew Jones also continuing for another season.
“I remember watching the Wynn’s V8 Supercar of Richards/Murphy on TV when I was younger,” said Kean, who finished 19th in the standings last year.
“To now be in the drivers’ seat of what is undoubtedly one of the best looking Wynn’s race cars is very cool.
“The goal this year is to be more consistent and in the top ten on a regular basis.
“Brad and the crew are super supportive and we’ve always said that 2015 was a learning year; now it’s time to move forward.’
BJR will field its Dunlop Series cars alongside its three-car V8 Supercars Championship effort and a new, single-car Kumho V8 Touring Car Series entry.
