Aussie Racing Cars front-runner Josh Anderson will make his debut in the ECB SuperUtes Series at next month’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 meeting.

Anderson will line up in one of the Sieders Racing Team-run Toyota Hiluxes, having moved into third position in the Aussie Racing Cars standings last time out at The Bend.

“I’m really excited to have a go at Bathurst,” said Anderson, who will also be making his first start at Mount Panorama.

“It’s one of those difficult tracks you have to respect. It’s going to be a challenge, but it’s something I’m looking forward to.

“If I can finish up the weekend having competed at this level and been competitive at this track, I will have a learnt a lot, and that would be a great outcome for me.”

The teen is one of what is becoming a long list of drivers to cross between the pint-sized Aussie Racing Cars and the much larger SuperUtes, which includes 2018 series runner-up Craig Woods in another Sieders-run Hilux.

Despite the contrast, Anderson is confident after testing his new ride at Sydney Motorsport Park and Wakefield Park.

“I’ve been enjoying the car and have taken to it quite well,” he noted.

“My training runs to date have gone pretty nicely, so I’m hoping for a good showing on the day.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity that arose through Sieders Racing to be able to have a crack at such an iconic track as Bathurst.”

Meanwhile, team owner Luke Sieders has confirmed to Speedcafe.com that former SuperUtes title contender Elliot Barbour will make his return having missed the last three rounds due to ankle surgery.

Barbour will suit up again in one of the team’s Mitsubishi Tritons, while the rest of the Sieders/Western Sydney Motorsport fleet will be driven by Cameron Crick (Triton), Ben Walsh (Hilux), Woods, Craig Thompson (Hilux), and Graham Edwards (Triton).

The Bathurst 1000, which includes Round 6 of the SuperUtes on the support card, takes place from October 10-13.
