Heretic Autosport has announced that evergreen racer John Bowe and one-time V8 racer Melinda Price will crew the Bentley in the 2017 CAMS Australian GT Championship.
Bowe, a two-time Bathurst 1000 winner and 1995 Australian Touring Car Champion, and former Castrol Cougar Price will join the Continental GT3 squad for the season opener from March 2-5.
Heretic chose its Facebook page to confirm its crew for the Bentley.
“The selection of JB will come as no surprise to anyone with an eye on the team as he has been the cornerstone on which the team has been built,” the team statement read.
“Melinda, whom many may remember from her days as a Castrol Cougar driving for Larry Perkins, is a driver we see as an extremely valuable member of the Heretic family.
“Her experience and ability to remain calm under pressure is what we were seeking in a co-driver.
“Both drivers post consistently quick lap times with the maturity to know races are not necessarily won in the first corner.”
Bowe was part of the Flying B Bentley operation alongside Peter Edwards and David Brabham at the 2015 Bathurst 12 Hour when the latter was taken out in the race by Craft-Bamboo Aston Martin of Stefan Mucke.
The heavy shunt at The Cutting sent Brabham to Orange Hospital for observation after he was running just outside the top 10 late in the race.
