CRG driver Jake Coleman has confirmed his spot on the grid in the Pro Junior(KF3) category for the 2010 CIK Stars of Karting Series.
Coleman, who qualified third fastest at the AKA Nationals in Townsville earlier this year has sighted the rejuvenated series as the next step in developing his motorsport career.
“The CIK Stars of Karting Series is the highest level of karting that we have in Australia, you’re racing against the best drivers with the fastest engines on the stickiest tyres,” said Coleman.
“It is a new challenge but one that I’m really looking forward to.“
The 13 year-old, who resides in the Sydney suburb of Glenmore Park, will take on some of the best young drivers from across the country in the Pro Junior category that will see all drivers use a Vortex KF3 Specification 125cc engine.
The four round CIK Stars of Karting Series will kick off in Newcastle on March 5-7 and will incorporate championships for the Pro Light (KF1), Pro Gearbox (KZ2) and Pro Junior (KF3) categories.
Former Champions of the CIK Stars of Karting Series include V8 Supercar Champion Jamie Whincup, Mark Winterbottom, Ryan Briscoe, Michael Caruso, Tim Slade, Troy Hunt, Andrew Thompson, Phillip Scifleet and Christian Jones.
