Craig Baird has won Race 2 of the City Index Carrera Cup in fading light at Mount Panorama this afternoon.
Taking his eighth victory of the season, Baird led home Jeroen Bleekemolen by 1.6163s after the two drivers went toe-to-toe on the mountain.
Jonny Reid finished in third place in his Nathan Tinkler-owned Hunter Sport's Group Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
Former series champion Alex Davison finished fourth and broke his own lap record from the 2006 round when he posted a 2:10.2199s on Lap 7.
Steven Richards rounded out the top five ahead of Daniel Gaunt in a race that ran free of any major incidents.
The status quo remained for the Elite class with Max Twigg again taking the victory one place ahead of former West Coast Eagle AFL full-forward Troy Wilson.
Team Kiwi's Andre Heimgartner finished 17th in the field of 18 after having to make a pit stop on Lap 1.
Carrera Cup will be on track at 0835 AEST tomorrow morning for Race 3 ahead of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 at 1035, of which five Carrera Cup drivers (Baird, Reid, Gaunt, Davison and Richards) will be competing in.
