Triple New Zealand V8 champions John McIntyre Racing has unveiled the look of its brand-new V8 SuperTourer.
McIntyre, who was recently confirmed as Will Davison’s team-mate for the V8 Supercars endurance races, took the covers off his new livery at his team’s recently-completed race-shop in Taupo – two months ahead of commencing competition in a brand-new era of V8 racing in New Zealand.
One of New Zealand’s most successful owner-driver race teams, John McIntyre Racing revealed a dynamic new green, white and black livery for the #47 FG Falcon V8SuperTourer that John McIntyre will pilot in the upcoming inaugural season of V8 SuperTourer racing.
Also revealed on the new Falcon V8 SuperTourer – and its accompanying three FG Falcon show cars and new two-car transporter – was the brand-new branding of major sponsor Blackwoods Protector, formerly Blackwoods Paykels Protector Safety.
The team will enter two cars in the championship, with the second driver yet-to-be announced.
“We are set for a massive season, of that there’s no doubt!” says the Nelson-based 34-year-old.
“I’m delighted to be able to show Kiwi motorsport fans the results of months of hard work now that John McIntyre Racing is working from our new race-shop at Taupo Motorsport Park. We are the only V8 SuperTourer team with our own dedicated race-shop at a racing circuit, which I think is going to be important for the future prospects of the team.”
The team also confirmed that Jason Liefting will be McIntyre’s race engineer for the inaugural season.
