Anton de Pasquale and Richie Stanaway have each been issued grid penalties for tomorrow’s second race in the Dunlop Super2 Series at Sydney Motorsport Park.
The pair admitted to a breach of end of race procedures, for which they were punished with a two grid position penalty.
De Pasquale and Stanaway had finished second and third respectively in Race 1, before following race winner Paul Dumbrell all the way around the circuit on the cool down lap and into pit lane.
Aside from the winner, all cars were to have entered the paddock at a gate at Turn 4, where all other support categories leave the circuit after a session.
The penalties put Paul Morris Motorsport’s de Pasquale and Prodrive Racing Australia’s Stanaway back to fourth and fifth on the grid for Race 2.
Jack Le Brocq (MW Motorsport) will now join Dumbrell (Eggleston Motorsport) on the front row, while Garry Jacobson (Prodrive Racing Australia) moves up to third on the grid.
No other penalties were issued post-race, though Matt Chahda did serve a drive-through during the race after reckless driving causing contact with Mason Barbera at Turn 2.
Round 5 of the series continues tomorrow with two 18-lap races starting at 1250 and 1510 AEST/local time, and a fourth on Sunday.
