Triple Eight expects Holden teams to receive the remaining parts required to complete builds of new ZB Commodores by early next week as the first shakedown of new cars begins.

Teams looking to construct new and convert old Commodores into the the new ZB shape have been hampered due to a delay in the manufacturing and arrival of panels.

The Supercars powerhouse squad has been charged with developing and manufacturing the ZB Commodore for the championship.

Today sees the first of the ZB Commodores undergo shakedown runs with Triple Eight’s three cars and Tekno Autosports’ sole chassis logging the permitted 60km at Queensland Raceway.

With the official pre-season test slated for next Friday, Dane is hopeful that all Holden teams will be set for the Sydney Motorsport Park outing.

“There are a couple of little bits outstanding,” Dane told Speedcafe.com.

“There are bits going out to them every day to them; they have all got enough to do the one car and they will have enough to do two or three or whatever they are doing in the next day or two.

“Hopefully they will all be able to do the test. It is all last minute but that is motorsport.”

Following several months of hard work from his team in engineering the new Holden, Dane admitted it was proud moment to see four of the new ZB Commodores out on track.

Work to prepare for the shakedown went into the early hours of the morning.

“It is a proud moment always when you have four new cars out like this,” said Dane.

“It reminds me of back in 2010 when we had four new Holdens, two Paul Morris Motorsport ones and two of ours.

“To have four of these new cars is a very big moment and achievement for the group.

“Shakedowns are always important; we have got four new cars out, so it is very important to iron out any bugs, and see what else we potentially have to get on top of before the test.

“We will try and anticipate everything.”
