The Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour’s recently announced partnership with Dutch promotional company Creventic has quickly borne fruit, with two international entries already received for the 2012 race.
Belgian squad VDS Racing Adventures will send a Ford Mustang to Australia for the event, while the Dutch Red Camel Racing team has entered a Seat Leon.
The GT3 specification VDS entry is set to be an outright contender, with the FIA GT1 and GT3 championship team having won May’s 12H Hungary with the car.
Creventic organise and promote the Dunlop 24H of Dubai, which next year is scheduled to run two weeks before the February 24-26 Bathurst event, in addition to the 12H Hungary and 24H Barcelona races.
The company has organised dedicated Bathurst 12 Hour travel and entry packages for teams from Europe, the United Arab Emirates or New Zealand.
“We are confident that we can attract more teams from Europe or the Middle East to race at Bathurst and we are looking forward to a great partnership with our friends in Australia,” said Creventic’s Gerrie Willems.
“We will actively promote the event in Europe. Not only among the teams who are competing in our events or have done so in the past, but among all teams in Europe. After all, one could say that racing at Bathurst is a must for every passionate driver.”
While the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour will not become part of Creventic’s 24H Series, the race’s class structure was recently revised to accommodate the endurance-spec cars that populate the class.
