Warren Luff has started his Porsche Carrera Cup fightback off on the right note by scoring position for the opening race at Sydney Motorsport Park.
The joint championship points leader with Steven Richards, Luff failed to finish the last race in Townsville after contact from team-mate Shae Davies.
It was back to business this morning as he sat on or near the top of the timesheets throughout the 20-minute session.
Sharing the front row will be the fastest man from Friday practice Michael Patrizi. Richards is on the second row with Sam Power enjoying a good session to start from fourth.
Multiple Carrera Cup champion Craig Baird will again start down the order in seventh.
In the Elite division Stephen Grove left it to his final lap to beat Shane Smollen, with Tony Bates in third.
The opening 14-lap race will be run this afternoon between the two V8 Supercars races.
