Mick Doohan will drive in the Race of Champions ROC Factor when the format makes its Australian debut on the Monster Jam program in October.
Both Doohan and freestyle motocross rider Robbie Madison will compete in the ROC races in the first leg of the Monster Jam tour at Brisbane’s Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre on October 7.
Maddison will stay on for the next three shows of the tour, while Jamie Whincup and Will Davison will race in the Melbourne shows.
“Any chance I have to compete on four wheels I normally take it, often not with great results but I do enjoy the experience of competing in a different discipline,” said Doohan.
“I’ve been privileged to drive in the Race of Champions over the years, it is always a challenge for an old bike racer and this event will be no different.”
Under the ROC Factor format, amateur racers will be selected to race against the professionals in ROC Cars.
Entries will be taken online before an expert panel evaluates contestants and names semi-finalists.
“Monster Jam is the biggest touring family stadium show on the planet,” said Magnus Danielsson, Vice President of Feld International Motorsports, which owns Monster Jam.
“Each year our fans expect bigger and more exciting family motorsports action which is why adding Race of Champions and ROC Factor makes so much sense for Monster Jam.”
ROC Factor first appeared at the 2015 Race of Champions in London.
Entry details will be announced closer to the date.

14 October – 2pm and 7pm – AAMI Park, Melbourne
21 October – 5pm – ANZ Stadium, Sydney
