Triple Eight Dunlop Series driver Scott Pye could be less than a week away from knowing if he will compete in this year's V8 Supercars endurance races at Sandown and Bathurst.
Prior to Barbagallo's event, Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport told Speedcafe.com that it would consider Pye for the seat alongside Taz Douglas in the two driver races – pending Pye's speed and form at Barbagallo Raceway.

Pye says that the coming week will determine whether he will make his Sandown and Bathurst debuts this year.
“Seats are very limited, so hopefully we can secure something,” Pye said.
“Something might be out in the media in the future. We'll wait and see.
“Roland has been great to me in not putting any pressure on me, letting me take my time.
“He did say going into this round that we'd wait and see how I go and we might do something.
“I'm sure that will be something that will be discussed when we go back to the workshop this week.”
Pye currently sits third in the Dunlop Series behind title leader Chaz Mostert and Scott McLaughlin.
