Former Touring Car Masters series winner Gavin Bullas will make a maiden foray into the Carrera Cup at Bathurst.
Bullas has secured backing from The Bottle-O for the one-off deal, which will see him drive the Porsche Cars Australia-owned 997 most recently seen in the hands of Shae Davies.
Davies will continue his full-season campaign in the ex-James Koundouris entry.
Although with considerable experience at Bathurst under his belt, Bullas is yet to drive one of the latest-spec Porsches.
“I haven't driven a 911 GT3 Cup car for a long time; everyone has been raving about how good the current model is,” he said.
“They brake well and turn in well – not like our older touring cars that I'm used to.”
Bullas added that he'll be using his association with The Bottle-O and Ford Performance Racing to learn from the V8 Supercars team's two drivers that have experience in the Carrera Cup.
“I'll be talking to Dave Reynolds and Steve Richards to get some tips with these cars so I'll be full of information by the time Bathurst comes around,” he said.
The Bathurst event marks the penultimate round of the 2013 Carrera Cup season.
Craig Baird currently leads the standings by a comfortable 81.5 points over Nick Percat.
