Slideways Go Karting World will host a special event to raise funds to aid the recovery of popular stuntman and action athlete Matt Mingay this Sunday.
The Gold Coast based facility will donate all proceeds from karting sessions rom 9am-1pm to Mingay’s Go Fund Me campaign.
Mingay remains stationed in Gold Coast University hospital as he continues to recover from horrific facial injuries sustained in a Stadium Super Trucks crash at Detroit last month.
The event hopes to raise funds through a series of auctions and raffles featuring items such as V8 Supercar and drift rides.
Supercars star Tim Slade will be in attendance alongside V8 Utes racers Ryal Harris and Ryan Hansford.
Mingay says he has been overwhelmed by the support he has received since the accident.
“I’m so overwhelmed by the massive level of support my fans and motorsport family have shown since my accident, your encouragement and good vibes is what pushes me to get out of hospital and back to 110 percent ” said Mingay.
“I also want to thank my good mates at Go Karting World for really getting behind me and showing their support.
“They have such an epic day planned, so if you can, get down there and meet some of your favourite V8 drivers and motorbike riders.
“It will be a great day for not only the mums and dads, but also my number one supporters, all the little kids, as we have a little surprise organised for every child that attends.”
More than $70,000 have been raised via Mingay’s Go Fund Me Campaign which has targeted a goal of $100,000.
