Team Penske has brought back a familiar look for Will Power’s forthcoming IndyCar Series title challenge.
The Toowoomba-born driver will sport a livery almost identical to what he ran in last year’s Indianapolis 500.
It marks the first time Power has campaigned an primarily black car for the duration of the season, ending a string of predominantly silver liveries dating back to 2016.
Power, who won the single-seater series in 2014 and the Indianapolis 500 in 2018, will continue to carry backing from Verizon.
“[I’m] super excited to get back inside my Verizon Chevrolet,” said Power.
“I hope you liked the matte black car we ran at Indy because I’m running it all season.
“Hopefully we can win some races, the 500, and a championship. That’s the goal.”
Power was the second quickest Team Penske pilot during pre-season testing at Sebring International Raceway.
He ended the day 11th and half a second adrift of timesheet topper Patricio O’Ward.
Can’t wait to race this matte black @Verizon 5G car all year in 2021!
