Series leader Fraser Ross has taken victory in the second Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia presented by Pirelli race at Sandown.
Race 1 winner John Goodacre again drove to the lead at the start followed by John Karytinos, who had an impressive start off the line with Ross and Jon McCorkindale close behind.
Ross came through to the lead mid-race and pulled away from his rivals to claim a 1.5s win from Goodacre and McCorkindale in third, who finished a mere 0.0055s apart at the chequered flag.
“It's crucial to get a good start to the championship, especially in a one-make series,” said Ross.
“I'm very happy to take the Race 2 win and I'm hopefully for a good Race 3 showing, though Goodacre is great off the line and McCorkindale will be very hungry to get to the front.”
Karytinos finished fourth from Carrera Cup trio Marc Cini, Tony Walls and Michael Loccisano, followed by Peter Fitzgerald, Jack Falla and Class B winner Matt Campbell in 10th.
Ross now leads the outright standings by a substantial 35 points from McCorkindale, with Goodacre moving into third a further five points adrift.
