Two motor racers voted into Top 100 Australian Sportswomen

Leanne Tander

Australia’s most successful female circuit racer Leanne Tander and Touring Car Masters driver Amanda Sparks has been voted into the top 100 Australian sportswomen of all-time.

Tander, who recently gave birth to her and champion racing husband Garth Tander’s second child, and Sparks, who finished third in class in last year’s TCM title, has joined an illustrious list of Australian olympic heroes and sports stars in the public vote.

The list was topped by three-time Olympic gold medalist Dawn Fraser.

Tander is regarded as one of Australia’s best circuit racing talents, competing in a range of categories from karts, production cars, V8 Supercars and Formula 3.

Her best result came in 2007 when she finished second to Tim Macrow in the F3 Championship.
