Sauber driver Pascal Wehrlein has been declared fit to race in this weekend's Australian Grand Prix after injuring his back in a crash in January.
The German had sat out the first test of the season after crashing into Felipe Massa at the Race of Champions and flipping his car, but has now been given medical clearance to compete at Albert Park.
Wehrlein returned for the second test from March 7-10, logging a total of 192 laps in the Sauber.
Ferrari reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi had stood in for the 22-year-old in the first pre-season test.
“The Sauber driver Pascal Wehrlein has been declared fit to participate in the 2017 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix by the FIA Medical Delegate, Alain Chantegret and Chief Medical Officer, Brent May,” read a statement issued by the FIA.
Wehrlein will jump behind the wheel of the Sauber in opening Practice on Friday at midday local time.
