X-Bow to make Australian GT Trophy Series debut

The KTM X Bow GT4 will join the Australian GT Trophy Series grid

M Motorsport’s GT4-specification KTM X-Bow will make its Australian GT debut at this weekend’s Trophy Series season-opener at Sandown.

The X-Bow will be joined by 11 Trophy class entries in the 18-car field, which is headed up by defending champion Rob Smith in an Audi R8.

GT4 cars are eligible for the Australian GT Trophy Series for the first time this year and may also run in the invitational class in Australian GT Championship and Australian Endurance Championship rounds.

Also in Trophy class, Australian GT Championship race winners Rod Salmon and Steve McLaughlan will make their Trophy Series debuts, helping to bring the Audi contingent to eight cars.

There will also be Trophy class entries for Lamborghini and Ferrari.

In the Challenge class, Scott Hookey will face competition from Australian GT debutant Emanuel Mezzasalma, while there will be four entries in the MARC class for the V8-powered Ford Focus- and Mazda 3-bodied cars.

The Australian GT Trophy Series is first on track for practice on Friday April 7 at the Shannons Nationals meeting, culminating in a pair of 50-minute races on the Sunday.
