MotoGP hot property Maverick Vinales says the decision regarding his 2017 plans is becoming clearer by the day.
The 21-year-old Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move to Yamaha next season as a replacement for the Ducati bound Jorge Lorenzo.
Vinales also has the option to stay with the factory Suzuki squad for a third season.
His future remains a hot topic in the paddock with his stock rising after scoring a breakthrough maiden podium in Sunday's French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
The result was also Suzuki's first MotoGP podium since the 2008 Czech Grand Prix when Loris Capirossi scored a third place finish.
Following his triumph, Vinales says he is edging closer to announcing his plans for next season.
“The decision is going to be really difficult but every day is more clear and finally as soon as possible I will make it,” said Vinales.
“For sure, I will make the decision soon. I don't need to think (the decision) is whether I made a podium or not.
“Honestly, to think about my future, if I think now (right after the race), it's wrong. I need to think at home, when everything is relaxed.
“I want to take the decision because it takes time to think, it's difficult to concentrate a hundred percent. As soon as I can, I'll take it.”
The MotoGP world championship heads to Mugello from May 20-22.
