Held last weekend, Challenge Bathurst is the fifth and final annual Mount Panorama motorsport event for 2023. Since the event started in 2016, it has attracted over 400 racing and registered cars each year and is operated through a joint venture between the Bathurst Regional Council and the organiser Accelerate Events.
The first two days, Thursday and Friday, were for Supersprints with Regularity on Saturday and Sunday. Fastrack V8 Race had driving and hot laps afterwards for two days with Driving Solutions following midweek.
Rain would dampen the SuperSpints but not before a couple of fast sessions. The best was 2:03.7850 by Garnett Patterson in John Paul Drake’s Wolf F1 Mistral. Second quickest was Drake in the same car, then Richard Perini (Ginetta G55 GT4) ahead of a host of Porsche Cup Car drivers headed by Jacque Jarjo.
