Regional produce rev up for 2015 Targa South West

thumbSouthern Forests Food Council and Manjimup Truffles will be sponsoring the 2015 Targa South West, seeing the motorsport entrants treated to some of the culinary delights of the region.

The Southern Forests Food Council will be the major sponsors of the Targa South West dinner held on Saturday 23rd May, where 300 attendees will experience a special selection of produce and wine from the Manjimup, Pemberton, Walpole and Northcliffe areas.

Chairman of the Southern Forests Food Council, Bevan Eatts, is looking forward to welcoming the rally entrants along with their crew and families, who will be arriving in the region next month.

“The Targa event is great for our region. Not only is it a great weekend of excitement and action for both locals and visitors, the charity event raises a lot of money for the local non-profit community initiative, Help a Mate,” said Mr Eatts.

“It’s our pleasure to be working with Targa to showcase local produce at the Genuinely Southern Forests Buffet Dinner. I’m sure the attendees will already be impressed by the beauty of our region, but we expect to impress them further with the range and quality of our local produce.”

Not content with just sponsoring the Pemberton stage of Targa South West, Manjimup Truffles Managing Director Al Blakers is looking forward to driving his 1977 A9X Torana as an entrant.

“Targa South West is a fantastic event and has a very big following with the people in the Southern Forests region. It is for this reason Manjimup Truffles have decided to support this event – we’d like to keep it happening in our area,” said Mr Blakers.

“This is my second attempt in the Targa South West, which gives me a chance to run my classic 1977 A9X Torana in the way it was built for!

“This event is a tonne of fun – the stages are held on some of the best roads you can find for tarmac rallying and it is great to see all the enthusiasts coming out to enjoy the action.”

The organisers are proud to announce Cutts Transport and insurance provider Shannons, have also signed on to be 2015 Targa South West sponsors, and Healthway along with the Quit message, will be continuing their longstanding support of Targa South West as the major sponsor.

Over 40 vehicles will take to the streets of Pemberton and Manjimup for the 2015 Targa South West. The event will kick off on Friday 22nd May with a Charity Ride Day at Pump Hill Road, Pemberton. On the Saturday and Sunday, it’s down to business – with the rally vehicles tackling a variety of stages in and around Pemberton and Manjimup.
